Thermal Insulation

Basic Principles of Heat Exchange

Heat transfer, also known as heat flow, heat exchange or just simply heat, is the transfer of thermal energy from warmer to colder areas. Therefore when its warmer inside, heat from inside a building seeks to get outside. And when its warmer outside heat seeks to get inside. Thermal insulation, is the product that reduces this heat loss by providing a barrier between the inside and outside of buildings. There is a very large choice of insulation materials available, with a broad variance in their performance.

Highest Quality Thermal Insulation

For a truly livable outdoor garden room, office, pod or lodge, having the best quality themal efficient insulation is most important. You will be able to use your GreenEco outdoor building all year round whatever the weather!. Our outdoor buildings will remain warm in the winter and cool in the summer. GreenEco living have developed the most thermally efficient process in the UK. We have developed a wall specification that produces an energy efficient product like no other on the market.

This process creates a SIPS Panel (Structural Insulated Panel) which enables our product to be one of the best energy efficient products on the market.

SIPS Panel (Structural Insulated Panel) Vs Alternative Insulation Materials

Each GreenEco thermal insulation panel has 70mm of injected insulation as opposed to mineral or animal fibre. Mineral or animal fibre insulation is much cheaper (less than a quarter of the price!) and tends to be used by the majority of garden building companies. In addition mineral or animal fibre slips inside the cavities leaving areas without any insulation whatsoever. Unlike GreenEco thermal insulation panels - mineral and animal fibre insulation products are susceptible to attack from mould, fungi, mildew and vermin.
